Services and Solutions: Office Relocation

Need to move offices?

Support for IT installation and office relocation. IT installation, cabling, networking, and workstations.

Installation of professional wireless networks throughout the company’s premises. Relocating or expanding an IT network is always a complex process that affects all areas of a company’s business.

We have a highly qualified and certified technical team to perform a wide range of services related to the installation of local and remote networks, as well as network installation projects.

DataRoad is currently involved in several IT network installation projects, as well as network certification for companies.

DataRoad ensures a smooth transition of your office's IT data to the new facilities.

We work with the client to plan the best products and solutions to meet your company’s needs within the new infrastructure.
Our work also aims to optimize your company’s time, so the work can be carried out after business hours to avoid disruptions to your business.

We are able to provide all the necessary support for your office relocation and the setup of your new office in all aspects related to IT.

We will provide all necessary support for both the IT installation and the configuration of the network infrastructure, as well as the installation of workstations and servers.

The Office Move That Companies Fear Most Isn't the Logistics—It's the IT

Stacked boxes, disassembled furniture, coordinating moving companies—the logistical aspects of an office move are visible, plannable, and controllable. The IT side of things is different. It’s invisible until the moment it fails—and when it fails, it fails at the worst possible time: on the first day of work at the new location, with the entire team waiting to turn on their computers.

Servers that won't boot up at the new facilities. A network that doesn't work because the cabling isn't finished. IP phones that haven't been configured. A VPN that won't connect. Email that won't sync. Printers that no one knows how to connect to the new network. A whole day—or more—of business downtime, with real costs and customers left without a response.

DataRoad eliminates this risk. We take full responsibility for the IT aspect of your company’s office move—from planning to final setup—so that on the first day at the new location, your team can simply turn on their computers and get to work. It’s that simple.

An Office Move Is an Opportunity. Don't Waste It.

Most companies view an office move as nothing more than a disruption to be minimized. The smartest companies see it as a unique opportunity—to modernize their IT infrastructure, address issues that have accumulated over the years, and build a solid technological foundation for the next 5 to 10 years.

Moving offices is the perfect time to:

Replace old, uncertified cabling with Cat6A infrastructure featuring certified network outlets—which will support the speeds and systems of the coming years without the need for rework.

Migrate legacy physical servers to virtualized infrastructure or the cloud—eliminating aging hardware and the associated risks of failure.

Implement a high-quality corporate wireless network—with a site survey, professional access points, and centralized management—instead of repeating the mistake of installing a home router in a closet.

Review and modernize the telephone system—migrate to VoIP and an IP-PBX, eliminating expensive landline contracts.

Revamp network security—implement an appropriate firewall, a VPN for remote work, and network segmentation between departments.

DataRoad helps your company make this transition the smart way—not just by moving old problems into a new environment.

What DataRoad Does to Help Your Company Relocate Its Office

IT Audit Prior to the Move

First and foremost, DataRoad conducts a comprehensive audit of the existing IT infrastructure—taking inventory of all equipment, mapping critical systems, identifying dependencies, and assessing the condition of each component. The goal is to determine exactly what is in place, what needs to be migrated, what needs to be replaced, and what can be reused.

This audit forms the basis of the migration plan—and is the reason why the changes DataRoad coordinates are free of surprises.

Network Design for the New Facilities

Based on the floor plan of the new facilities and the company’s requirements, DataRoad develops the complete network design—including the location of all data and voice network points, cabling routes, rack placement, wireless network architecture with a site survey, and the sizing of switching and active systems.

The project is delivered to the client before construction begins—including blueprints, material specifications, and an installation schedule.

Certified Structured Cabling Installation

Installation of Cat6A structured cabling in the new facilities, with each network port certified using Fluke Networks equipment and a complete certification report provided. Assembly and organization of racks, patch panels, and cables—with a professional finish and documentation that ensures any technician in the future can immediately understand the network architecture.

Corporate Wireless Network Installation

Design and installation of a professional wireless network with a preliminary site survey—Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco, or Fortinet access points positioned based on measured coverage, not on the convenience of cable routing. SSID configuration by user profile, VLAN separation between employees, visitors, and IoT devices, and centralized management with real-time monitoring.

Migration of Servers and Critical Systems

Server migration is the most critical part of any office move—and the part that most often goes wrong when it isn’t managed by experts. DataRoad plans the migration down to the last detail: a maintenance window outside of business hours, a full backup before any work begins, a phased migration to minimize downtime, and validation of all systems before resuming normal operations.

We migrated physical servers, servers virtualized on VMware and Hyper-V, NAS storage devices, file servers, and application servers—including a complete reconfiguration for the new environments and validation of all dependencies.

Network, Firewall, and VPN Configuration

Installation and configuration of a Fortinet or Sophos firewall, with security rules tailored to the company’s risk profile; a VPN for remote employee access and inter-office connectivity; and network segmentation by VLAN between departments. The new network starts out secure—security isn’t “added later.”

Telephone Switch Migration

Migration of the telephone system to VoIP using an IP-PBX — Asterisk, 3CX, or another platform — including porting existing numbers, configuring extensions and call groups, and integrating with the CRM system, if applicable. Elimination of costly landline contracts and transition to a modern, flexible, and scalable system.

Relocation and Setup of Workstations

Dismantling, transporting, and reassembling all workstations—including a complete reconfiguration of each computer for the new facilities: network connection, printers, file sharing, VPN, and business software. Each employee arrives at the new facilities to find their workstation exactly as they left it—but even better.

Integration with Microsoft 365 and the Cloud

Companies that use Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace, or other cloud platforms benefit greatly from an office move—it’s the ideal time to review licenses, optimize configurations, and ensure that the new infrastructure is fully integrated with cloud services. DataRoad sets up the integration between the local network and cloud services, ensuring single sign-on, identity synchronization, and secure access to all resources.

Testing and Validation Before the Physical Migration

Whenever possible, DataRoad tests all IT infrastructure at the new facilities before employees physically move in—including internet connectivity, the internal network, servers, printers, phones, and access to all critical systems. The goal is for the first day of work at the new facilities to be exactly like any other day—no surprises, no delays, no frustration.

Office Relocation Without Losing Productivity — How We Ensure It

The productivity lost during a poorly managed office move doesn’t show up on any invoice—but it’s there. Let’s do the math: a company with 30 employees that loses an entire day of work due to IT issues during the move is wasting the equivalent of one person’s month of work. If the problems drag on for two or three days—which often happens without a dedicated IT partner—the actual cost of the move is much higher than the renovation budget.

DataRoad plans its IT migration to achieve zero downtime:

We work at the new facilities before the actual move—the network infrastructure and critical systems are up and running before the first employee arrives.

We migrate servers outside of business hours—usually on the weekend before the move, so that everything is ready by Monday.

We have a technical team on site on the first day—to immediately resolve any issues that arise and ensure that no employee spends the day unable to work.

We perform a full backup of all data before moving any system—because accidents happen, and data recovery is much more expensive than prevention.
