Public Administration Social Services have chosen DataRoad once again, this time for a project of repair, installation of new network outlets and computer cabling certification, out of a total of 456 network points. This is yet another contract renewed with this client, which reinforces confidence in DataRoad's technical team for the management of network infrastructure in a public environment.

What did the project consist of?

The work involved three distinct phases, carried out in a coordinated manner to minimise the impact on the client's daily activity:

• Diagnosis and repair of the network points identified as faulty or with degraded performance;
• Installation of new network points in areas of the building with additional connectivity requirements;
• Certification of all cabling, with performance testing at each of the 456 points, individual documentation and labelling to facilitate future infrastructure management.

Why network certification is essential

Structured cabling certification is not an optional step — it is what guarantees that every network point meets the required technical parameters (attenuation, crosstalk, channel length, among others) to support current and future speeds and traffic loads. Without certification, intermittent network issues can go unnoticed for months, affecting productivity and creating difficult-to-diagnose blind spots.

In a building with hundreds of network points, as is the case with this project, the individual certification of each connection is even more critical: it makes it possible to precisely identify any out-of-specification point before it becomes a problem for users, and creates a documented record that facilitates any future intervention.
