IT Services for Businesses in Porto
DataRoad is a Portuguese managed IT services company with an active presence in Porto. Since 2015, we have ensured the operation of IT infrastructures for businesses that cannot afford to stop — industry, hospitality, clinics and offices — with a certified team, permanent monitoring and continuous support.
The northern business fabric is asking for something else
The North is dominated by export-led industry — textiles, footwear, metalworking, components — and by an expanding services sector around Boavista and the business parks of Matosinhos, Maia and Vila Nova de Gaia. It is a different profile from the typical urban office, and IT problems are too.
Production doesn't wait for office hours
A three-shift facility needs the systems to be up at three in the morning, when there is no one in the building to restart anything. Monitoring and alerting stop being optional.
The factory floor and the office are different worlds
Office cabling will not survive in a factory floor environment with dust, moisture and vibration. Furthermore, the connection between the two buildings is almost invariably the weak point of the installation.
Network-connected machines
Scales, readers, automata and control systems join the network without ever having been included in the project. Isolating that traffic is the difference between a shutdown and a scare.
Exporting demands availability
Exporters have customers and freight forwarders depending on documentation issued on time. A morning without a system has a direct and visible cost.

Redundancy is worth more than speed
In an industrial environment, the question is not how many megabits are contracted — it is what happens when the primary connection drops halfway through a shift. A second connection from a different operator, with automatic failover, costs a fraction of what an afternoon of downtime costs.
The same reasoning applies to the rack power supply and critical equipment: what has no alternative is, by definition, a single point of failure.

Servers, connections and active equipment are continuously monitored. Most incidents are resolved before anyone notices them.

Remote user support with defined response times in writing, during extended hours.
On-site intervention
Cabling, hardware replacement, coverage surveys and rack assembly with a team deployed to the region.
Periodic review
Assessment of the infrastructure as the company grows or changes premises.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a team in Porto or do you travel from Lisbon?
We work with planned trips to the region and contractual on-site response capabilities. What we guarantee in writing is the response time, not the address the team departs from — that is the figure that matters to anyone with a system that is down.
Do you do industrial cabling?
Yes, with materials and routes appropriate to the environment: suitable cable trunking, mechanical protection and certification of each point at the end of the installation.
Can we keep the current supplier for part of the services?
They can. There are companies that deliver just the network and security to us, while keeping the management software with another partner. What we define up front is who is responsible for what, so there are no grey areas.
What is the cost of a support contract?
It depends on the number of stations, servers and the desired level of coverage. The model IT Unlimited fix a monthly fee with a defined scope, with no call counting.
A chat before making a decision
Whether you’re tackling a specific problem, planning a move or simply looking for a second opinion, we always start in the same way: by understanding your situation before making any suggestions. No obligation, no jargon and no catalogues.
